  1. hi im trying to compress a .mpg file so that i can put it on a cd but its a bit too big to fit on a 700mb cdr. the mpg file is about 766mb. so what i plan to do is maybe use virtualdub to compress it down a bit. but everytime i do so i get a sync error. anything i can do to fix this or any suggestions on compressing .mpg?

  2. Well, first, a 700 MB CD will hold 800 MB burned as VCD or SVCD.

Second, Vdub does not do MPG compression.

Third, I would suggest reading some more.
