Once i burn the dvd using smart ripper, i open up DVD2AVI.

I have version 1.77, and when i go through the process of the guide on this site, i notice my version dosent have the options that the guide tells me to do... More specifically, in saving the audio into wav or mp3 format.

I decided to disregard this step and see what would happen, so after dvd2avi was finished, i opened up TMPGemc to encode the movie, but once the movie was finished encoding, the movie was perfect, but with no sound due to the fact that i couldnt set that feature in one of the steps with dvd2avi..

Is there some type of plugin i need or what do i have to do in this situation...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

also, what other programs are used for encoding besides TMPGemc, i know there is DVDx, but i always get this damn error message stating that "sample is too big" and dvdx only encodes about 5 to 10 minutes then stops.

    thanks.

  2. DVD2AVI should have created two files a *.d2v and *.ac3 file in the audio option on the menu make sure you choose Track 1 (usually english) and make sure you have demux or you can extract all the audio files using demux all. The ac3 files are your audio which you use when authoring.

DVD2AVI produces 2 files, a d2v which is the video and an mpa which is the audio. Use a program like Goldwave or Cooledit and load the mpa into it and then convert to WAVE and save that file. Load the settings in TMPGEnc and then use the d2v as the video and the WAVE as the audio and encode. This will give you your Mpeg-1 or Mpeg-2 program file...

So, im assuming you guys have had this same situation.

I see what you mean, once dvd2avi is done, i have like 5 or 6 ac3 files and one d2v file...

But in the guide on this site, it shows dvd2avi creating the d2v and the wav file, why is this??

    thanks for the replies.
