AV-IO has built in VCR like functions with seamless multisegment captures.

I find it is a lot easier to get the correct settings for capture with AV-IO.

I use AV-IO for captutre then edit the capture with Virtual Dubb.

AVI-IO is wotht its price US$25

These programs use VFW right? I can't use VFW and the wrapper causes VDub to go into panic mode saying it can't find it. Meanwhile, a program like Video Capturix finds it no problem. Moot in any case as WDM is now controlling the marketplace especially for new capture hardware. Looks like major rewrite time ahead for these VFW only capture solutions...

  5. VirtualDub, even if enabled with the vfwwdm wrapper is heavy on your
system (easily drops frames and leads to a/v sinc problems) and will
not allow you to use divx 3.11a f.m. (div4), if you happen to choose it
    -- only the low motion version (4.v3 = div3).

AVI_IO will keep your selected framerate but will limit input bitrate to
its deafault, no matter what you've priorly selected.

But FlyCap (w3.asvzzz.narod.ru) offers you superior options within multi
specifications and perfect stability, being very light on demands to yr. rig.
    And it's Freeware.
If you work with wdm & a capture card you'll have to buy FlyDS, though.
