Hi all
So, I'm converting avi to svcd. I usually add subs ( permanent ) with vdub textsub.
problems: If the sub consist of three lines, then when applying it to a letterboxed 16:9 ratio movie on a 4:3 TV, then the rhird line doesn't fit on a screen ( char 16 is the smallest one can read, I think)). I'd rather keep the 16:9 ratio cause I'm planning on a SONY wega 8)
So if I could somehow force the textsub filter, or the .sub to break itself into two lines ( no more ) than that could solve my problem
Or if I could specially letterbox the movie, by only adding the lower black border ( of course double size ).
Anyone who knows the anwer pls help
( anyway what do you think, how would a movie with that special letterboxing look like? I mean, wouldn't it be unusual => crap? )

in this program before the conversion there is a setting called :
"Dist to the borders"
The ssa output file can be used in virtualdub with the subtitle plugin form avery lee
