My parents were 'between grills' at the time so I just got a couple of those disposable bbqs and put them on the steps that lead upto the back garden.

What a strange question!
Always been natural, bright blonde as a kiddie (up to the age of seven going by the pics I have), then gradually darker until the darkest brown you see today.
My son had jet-black hair the day he was born - very light now some 14 months later - he'll be blonde soon and then dark no doubt as he get's older.
I'm hoping hair dye won't be in my bathroom cabinet for at least twenty years
