  1. how do i capture DVD menu's to BMP files, so i can import them into maestro? Which software will do this, I already have a hunch that windvd2k does this, am i right?

  2. If your intentions are to copy DVD-DVD-R then I recommend getting DVDXCOPY by 3-2-1 Studios. This app copy menus and will even split your movie to place on DVD-5 disks. I make SVCD's all the time and tried this program out of curiousity. It make flawless duplicates. Most movies require 2 blank DVD-R's.

  3. The best way, IMHO to extract the menus is to:
    (1) decrypt the ENTIRE DVD (i.e., with DVD Decrypter or Smartripper on File Mode)
    (2) the menus are usually in VTS_xx_0.VOB (often they are all in VTS_01_0.VOB)
    (3) load this file up with DVD2AVI and you can extract either the video sequence or save stills as BMP.

    This way you can get frame accurate stills / clips.

    Press "B". In my older version of DVD2AVI, you must have it set to RBG24 rather than YUV.
