I used to capture DV tapes into AVI file via IEEE-1394 card
using Microsoft Direct Show codec and
microsoft DV camera device (Default in windows 2000).
I Then I installed Sony DV codec (VFW type) and
suddenly my captures use this codec as default.
I think that Sony is slower and not as good.
However it works with software like CCE SP or Ligos or
virtual dub or anything VFW.
Is there somewhere in registry default capture codecs
used with MS camera device so I can switch between these?
Help Please!!

OK. I found it.
Maybe others will be interested as well, because many NLEs are using
default MS Direct Show codecs that are unusable for CCE-SP or virtual dub.
(Just name Premiere 6)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32\VIDC.dvsd
carries alternative dll (of VWF style codec), that replaces MS DV codecs.
If this is not present it uses Direct Show DV codecs.
Of course This is under Win2000 (Wonder why it is still using NT registry).
