Trying to post a guide - No images

I have a guide I would like to post on how to go from AVI capture through to DVD burn. I have it perfect (under preview) but do not want to post it yet BECAUSE I cannot get the images to display.

I use and i have the image browsed from my C: drive under image 1 expecting it to upload.

The files are smaller than 30k
They are in lower case
They are simply named pic01.jpg, pic02.jpg, etc.

What am I doing wrong ? Do I have to send to an internet URL first (like yahoo pictures ?) ..I didn't think so because the instructions says they upload. You would not have to upload from a netaddress.

Thanks in advance...Hoping this guide can give a clear path with lots of tips.

I looked into the FAQ section on this site, did a word search for "images" and got this hit:

Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).

Submit the guide. You can not preview an image, that you did not upload yet.
The user guide section is the only forum, that let you upload images directly. On the other forums you have to link to images instead, as Tommyknocker said.

Okay , now you both have me confused (not hard to do...LOL)

One told me I have to put them on the net (thats not what the guide to the guides displays, ie My documents, etc)..And the only place I can store on the net is YAHOO (public access) pictures.

The moderator says they have not uploaded yet.

Does that mean ASSUME they have, post the guide or you mean I have to do something else to UPLOAD ???

5. Add the images by selecting them under UPLOAD IMAGES, if you have more than 5 images you add them later by clicking on edit button on your guide.

Note! Max 30kbyte for each image and image filenames must be in lower case!.




6. Submit the guide. You can easily edit and add more images by clicking on the edit button on your guide.
