I gonna encode E.T to a SVCD, 115 minutes long, should i choose 2 or 3 CDs?
Anyone who already have encoded that movie and can tell about the quality, and how many CDs they used?
Thanx!

I used two. I think I cut the credits out to get the time down a little. It looks great. However, you must consider that I only have a 27inch tv. My rule of thumb, is to use three if it is over 121 minutes. I use 192 for the audio, and this will keep the video over 1600.
I don't know if this helps, but that's what I do and I am very picky about video quality. -

I just put ET in again to check the quality. I know this sounds crazy, but I would guess that at a viewing distance of about 10ft. on my 27 in looks nearly as good as the original through 90% of the movie. Ofcourse through seens of complication pixelation is efident. And, ofcourse, on a larger TV or closer viewing distance the difference may be more significant.
I also agree with poopyhead, if you go with 3 cd's then I would keep the audio at 224 and the credits. However, if you go with 2 (which I think the results are pretty good, atleast for that movie, 'sometimes it matters on the complexity of the movie') then I would cut the credits and set the audio to 192. You can't hear the difference, and even though it's only 32 kb/s every bit 'no pun intended'counts.
One more thing. If you have a changer, don't even think about it and go with 3.
