  2. If you want to go to VCR you need video out on your graphics card. Connect this to video in on your vcr.

  3. Can you please tell me step by step on what to do to record a movie from my computer. I tried to hook up the output cable of the my video card GF4 4600 (Gainward). But I can't record anything, it's like there is no signal into my VCR. Please help me soon, thanks. Is there any program (software) that can do this for me? What are the solutions? Thanks

You're on the right track. Hook up your VCR to TV Out on the graphics card. You must set your VCR to use "AV" as input. If (when) the TV connected to your VCR shows the picture from your computer, you're ready. If not, check if the graphics card is really outputting to TV Out. Most cards must be connected to the TV/VCR at boot time, or else TV out wont be selectable as output. Check your graphics cards documentation on how to switch output!

  5. You have to enable your TV out. I cant say the exact process to do this with your card as I dont have one. But for my AIW7500.

    Right click on the desktop
    Select active desktop
    Select customise my desktop
    Select the settings tab
    Click advanced
    Select the displays tab
Activate the TV out by pressing the power on button.

Like I say might be slightly different for your card, but should be something along these lines.

  6. So then, this means that, i need to hook up the TV to the VCR right? Because, when I select the TV output from the setting tab, the monitor when blank for 15 secs and returns to normal state.

I am just new to this, please be patient. Thanks

I theory, you don't need to have your TV connected to the VCR, but, as you've experienced, the monitor goes black when you switch to TV Out (the card can only (for some reason that's beyond me!) output to one device - either monitor or TV) it's hard to do anything more. What's probably happening is that the alert "Would you like to keep these settings? (Reverting in 15 seconds)" is shown. Since the monitor is black and you have no TV connected, you can't tell, and not click on "OK".
Having the TV connected to the VCR is almost a "must" since you'll be wandering in the dark if not.

  8. Thankfully when I activate TV out on my AIW7500, the display on my PC monitor is not disabled.

  9. mats.hogberg,
I also think that I need to HAVE the TV. I will have to try that when I get home today. Also, is there any other method(s) to output to VCR using the VIVO function that I have?

    Thanks

  10. Thank you everyone, I figured it out, it's kinda suck that the vid card can only output to one source at a time. But thanks
