Smartripper (v2.4) is taking an eternity to rip a disc - 11% complete, and it's been going 2.5 hours. The DVD speed shows as 0.1x. This is my first attempt at ripping a DVD.
The drive is a Pioneer DVR-A03, with the latest firmware. Windows 2000 SP2. Athlon 2GHz 512Mb RAM. CPU usage is 3-10%, and memory usage about 50%.
I've tried rebooting but it doesn't improve anything.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
TIA for any tips
Ian

Hmm..
Is this the only program that rips like that? or havent you tried any others?
i'd say maybe try DVD Decrypter -
I finally had a flash of inspiration. I noticed that the DVD drive was set to "Region 1". I changed it to "Region 2", restarted the rip, and now it's rattling along at 1.9x.
Now why didn't I think of that a few hours ago?
Thanks for your reply

To be honest it's amazing that SmartRipper has held up as long as it has considering the fact the last version released was almost a year ago.
Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack -
Sometimes, but sometimes, the oldy but goody programs
work the best....like the older versions of ifoedit seem to
be a little better functionally than the newer one...
