  1. This is my first full length movie attempt.
    I'm using Smartripper.
If my aim is to eventually make a VCD.
1)In the settings,if I only want basic stereo audio output do I uncheck everything else but 2 channel english?
2)Is there a way to accurately split the vob's in half?
(I found through experimenting that even if I split the vob's into reasonably equal parts, the end result after encoding is quite different...ie:unbalanced).
3)Is there any reason why I cant feed the vob's directly into TMPGE for encoding?
    Thanks in advance

  2. Nope......

The audio track for two channel english is almost always director commentary or some such drivel. You need to decode the ac3 6 channel for your (s)vcd

Smartripper will merge vobs. If you want two of approx. the same size look at the chapter selection of smartripper and just add the chapters to be two fairly equal end running times

If you only want the video and audio w/out subs then you should even be able to do that with a FAT partition
entirely TOO much time on my hands
