I'm using windows media player to play my avi's. Some will seek perfectly, while the rest will begin playing the video extra fast until it reaches the point i click to. Is there a patch for media player that fixes this?

You need more memory passing between your video card and system, and probably a larger file cache.

Memory passing? I have 512mb of ram, and 64mb of video ram, if that's what you mean. And my swap file is 1 gig.

the .avi isn't complete or the encoder set the keyframe interval too high.
It's most likely the former.
