  1. I'm using windows media player to play my avi's. Some will seek perfectly, while the rest will begin playing the video extra fast until it reaches the point i click to. Is there a patch for media player that fixes this?

  2. You need more memory passing between your video card and system, and probably a larger file cache.

  3. Memory passing? I have 512mb of ram, and 64mb of video ram, if that's what you mean. And my swap file is 1 gig.

  4. the same thing happens with 160mb of ram and 4mb of video ram.

    the .avi isn't complete or the encoder set the keyframe interval too high.

    It's most likely the former.
