I have a pretty stupid question.
I have been aligning subtitles below the picture when I do my SVCDs. When I do this with 16x9 aspect ratio video's, I am assuming that the subtitles will not show up if I view the SVCD on a widescreen tv. Is this correct?

No. 1.SVCD support DAR 4:3 only. 2. You can not add the subtitles (permanent or switchable) outside the frame.
If you encode your video to DAR 4:3 (widescreen with borders) and add the subs to to borders, then play it on a 16:9 TV and zoom in to fit on screen, then the subtitles will not show up. -
Ah, thanks Truman. Yeah, I just messed around with it a little more yesterday and found the limit to the bottom border.
Thanks again.
