i've tried to figure that out, but i don't know where it tells you what kind of file it is. Is it in the filename or the properties of the file? I've looked in both but i can't figure that out. I downloaded the movie from morpheus with divx in the searchname. In the file name it sas divx, so my geuss is that it is a divx file, but i really don't know and my encoder still does'nt, please help!!!

Have you tried to install the Kristal Studio Pack codecs?
And have you read all stuff in the TMPGEnc problems section?

  6. A couple of things to try.
First of all do you get this error message with other files or just this one? I've had this problem myself and thought it was the file. When I checked another file that I knew to be good I got the same error. A fresh download of TMPEnc fixed the problem.
Do you have the DivX codex on your machine? It needs to be downloaded and installed. If Windows media player will play it then the codex is installed. If you get sound only and no picture or it won't play then it's not installed. But you likely would remember installing it...sometimes the first install doesn't work ( of the codex). So check WMplayer to make sure it will play. hope this helps Schwinn
