I'm trying to make 2 svcds out of one avi file
the film 51'st state, 25 fps mpeg4, sound 48kHz stereo
Vdub doesnt like the movie it prompts : improper vbr, rewriting header => lots of skew....
The first svcd went ok. After that I tried to do the following:
open the whole movie, select the second part ( my second part ), save the waw, and the avi ( with audio ) . when playing back this new avi, the audio is out of sync ( by the ammount promted by vdub).
Aftre that I tried then to save only the video, than by addig the waw saving it as avi ( multiplex it ), the problem is stilll there.
the question to answer is : how to cut an avi in 2 parts ? ( while keeping the audio in sync) PLS help
I need to use vdub for frameserving cause I'm addig srt subtitles, and I have a working method in my hands to make my movies, and I dont want to mess up things ))
The above were inspired by faq, forum tips, but they didn't work out.

  2. I have better luck cutting the movie during the encode process (with TMPGE).
First use Virtualdub to save the audio WAV.
    Open>
    "Movie".avi>
    Audio>
    Full processing mode>
    Audio>
    Conversion>
    48000>
    Audio>
    Compression>
    No compression PCM>
    File>
    Save WAV.

    Then in TMPGE.
Set up your movie (and use the WAV you just made as the Audio Source).
    Set up your template.
    Setting>
    Advanced>
    Source Range>(double click)
    Move slider to halfway point>
    Click Set End Frame >
    Ok>
    OK>
    set Output file name to..."Movie"-pt1>
    File>
    Save Project>
    Save>
    Setting>
    Advanced>
    Source range>(double click)
type in frame number in "start frame" box(copy from previous end frame box setting)>
Slide bar to end of movie>
    Click on Set end frame>
    ok>
    Ok.>
    Set output file name to..'movie"-pt2>
    File>
    Save project>
    Save>
    File>
    Batch encode>
    add (click on Pt1)>
    Add (click on Pt2)>
    Run
    File>
    Save project>

Thanks for the tip, I get what you are trying to explain, but I'm using cce, and only use tmpeg for the sound joining the later with bbmpeg, so this isn't a solution, but thanks anyway.
