I was capturing a non-multisegment file when Vdub inexplicably crashed. After rebooting I attempted to open the 3.3gb file in Vdub while reconstructing the missing index block but it stalled at about the 75% complete mark.
This file can not be opened by Vdub, Premier, WMP, BSPlayer, Zoom. The only way I can view any of the clip is by using AVIPeview. Even still, it allows me to view again, only about 75% of the clip.
I viewed the AVI header using AVIEdit and it was missing the "frames" and "length" values. Also note that this file can not be copied and pasted within the windows enviroment as I noted while trying to make an expenable copie for repair test purposes.
Capture was done using HUFFyuv. Any and all information you could give in regards to recovery would be greatly appreciated as I will not get another chance to capture this scene in the forseeable future.
Thanks,
Golem

I do not know of any tool. If I still want to use the current corrupt file, I might open this file in a Hex Editor and try to fill in the "frames", "size" manually as required by the format.
The best option however is to recapture again.
