I have been looking all over, but I can't seem to find an answer to this.

I have an mpeg file that is 82 minutes long and therefore will not fit on an 80 minute cd (using a longer cd is not an option with my burner). If I could clip off the credits this file would fit perfectly on one disk. Is there a way to cut a number of frames off of an mpeg without demuxing and converting the files to another format?

I have also tried splitting the file using moremissingtools, but everytime I split the second file will not work. Plus I wouls prefer to only have to use one disk.

    Can anyone help?

If you just want to make one fast cut you can d/l the free for 30 days TMPGEnc. It will do what you need.

In the future if you want to cut a bunch of different places all at once, download the honestech mpeg editor. The trial is not fully functional.

I appreciate the information, but there is just one big problem...

This is the mac video forum and tmpegenc is only available for windows.

Is there anything comparable for mac yet?

  4. Use mpgtx. It'll do exactly what you want.

I thought mpegtx would only cut a file in to equal sized pieces. Will it actually let me cut a 2 minute chunk off of the end of the file and still leave an 80 piece?
