Newer version of TMPGEnc doesn't recognize ac3 sound files

I've been using TMPGenc 2.56 for awhile and DVD2AVI 1.77 and TMPGEnc always recognized the ac3 sound file. From my experience any version of TMPGEnc above 2.56 doen't recognize ac3 anymore.

Is there a plugin or fix to make these newer version recognize ac3 files?

i reallly dont think any version of tmpgenc can/could use ac3 files...

it can multiplex them is all ...

How come TMPGEnc 2.57 and up doesn't recognize the .ac3 when multiplexing ...when 2.56 does?

i just tried it -- 2.59 multiplex's ac3 streams pefect ... if you are having trouble -- use the drop list in file type (in multiplex) and select the bottom selection for file type - namely = .ac3

Sorry you're right I got mixed up between Multiplexing and encoding.

I was talking about encoding a .d2v file with .ac3 as an Audio Source.

Any ideas?

no you cant .... well not directly -- the ac3 would have to be changed into wav

Yeah....strange, that really stumped me because TMPGEnc 2.56 can still read .ac3 as an Audio Source...weird...lol
