I've noticed that in Nero (v5.5+) when I burn a VCD on my LG-8080B 8x burner, I get buffer underruns when burning at 8x (1,200k/s).

So, I change it to 6x (900k/s). But, in the process, Nero says:

"Change of write speed due to media"

and burns the VCD at 4x (600k/s). I've tried several different "brands" of CD-R's, but I get the same results each time.

This only happens when I burn VCDs. Anything else I can burn at 8x. Can I assume it has something to do with the large 600+ megabyte files?

  2. I get this message when I try to burn anything onto office depot brand cdrs that I got for a gift awhile ago. Yet if I use the CrapUSA, I mean CompUSA disks, it works just fine. Try changing the media and see if it makes a difference.
