  1. Hi I have just bought a pinnacle pctv pro tv video tuner card.
I can capture video as a mpeg file no problems, but does this mean
I cant edit the file. Do I have to capture as a avi file in order to edit
it properly. I want to put a name in front of the video and delete some
frames in the video itself. Also Im not sure what video editing software
is the best to use. I have downloaded the trial version of Pinnacle Studio
7 but I am not sure how to use it.
My system is a celeron 850,128ram,40gig hdd.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

If you want to edit then AVI capture is the way to go. Pinnacle Studio is a great beginners editing software, in fact for many home enthusiasts it provides more than enough editing features to last way beyond the beginner stage. If you are thinking of buying Studio 7 then you should really go for the latest version 8.

  3. hi thanks for that.
    Just one more question.
How do I convert AVI to mpeg.
I know all about dubbing DVDs and making them into VCDS.
I have the programs smartripper,dvd2avi,tmgenc and nero.
Not sure if I need something else and how to do it.
