Everything I read states that this can be done. Using TMPGEnc to convert an MPEG2 (CVD/SVCD) file to a VCD format but I can not get the Video source to accept an *.MPG file only a *.AVI file.
Is the convertion done in the MPEG tools somehow?
Appreciate the help. I am sure this is easy I just can't figure it out.
Thanks

No, TMPGEnc can't read MPEG2 - it has an MPEG2 encoder, no MPEG2 decoder. However, with some software DVD players installed (I don't remember which right now, but I think WinDVD was one of them - take a look at the TMPGEnc site) TMPGenc can use that players decoder and then read MPEG2 directly.

It works with PowerDVD codec and Ligos codecs. Or else use the method that satstorm recommmmmmend, www.vcdhelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm
