hello i was wondering if there was a way to play two mpegs at the same time but in split screen?
and in vcdimager? does it concern xml?
here is waht i want to do. i want a intro with the text links flying in and then standing still whille on the other side there is this spinning logo comes in continues spinning.
so after the transistion the text should stay still and the logo should continue to spin (loop)
oh and all this is for a menu.
any comments and suggestions are cool

I've done split screen with Vegas Video... i can see that working in VV, it doesn't seem too complex. But i haven't tried anything else, and Vegas Video is expensive as hell, so i'm not sure what other program will let you do that....

is there a way to find a demo of vegas video?
maybe i might rip a xml file from that baby

But with vegas video isnt that like adobe premiere?
the reason i want two mpegs playing at the same time is to have them still seprate files. so one is playing on one side while the other on the left side. one side pauses whille the left side would continue to loop. (untill the user would make a Track selection
any ideas?
i was thinking of another path too, but i donno how i can pull this off with one mpeg. Imageine this is a menu ok? I create a menu mpeg with the text flying in and then stops and the logo will contiously rotate.
i was wondering if the vcd can loop back to a "certain" point in the mpeg instead of looping BACK to the beginning of the track??
sorta like define it as in sec's in the xml and have the next track to reffer back to the time.
but the thing is i want it to be a menu so it would haf to be a "segment" rite?
any help with this and i wll be eternaly greatfull

You can't have two mpegs playing at once... but what you want to do can easily be done with just ONE mpeg...
Think of how mnay DVD menus are created (e.g., Crouching Tiger and Charlie's Angels).
The first time you load the DVD (i.e., first time the main menu is played) you get a beginning animation first which then seamlessly merges into the menu. From then on, just the menu loops over and over again.
This can be simply emulated on a VCD with a little bit of authoring... You will have to create your MPEG like this:
|------(1)-------|----------------(2)---------------|
This is just one MPEG.
1: the begining animation with the merging bit at the end
2: the main menu animations
Now, reference this mpeg in the XML as a <sequence-item>. Add an <entry> at the junction between (1) and (2).
Now create two <selection>. The first one will be when the VCD is first loaded (i.e., "first load main menu". The <play-item> for this should be the beginning of the sequence. Now set the <timeout> link for this to be the second <selection>.
For the second <selection>, the <play-item> should be the entrypoint which describes the junction of (1) and (2). This is now your "main menu" and you can loop it.
How will this play?
selection1 -----> selection2 (loop ad infinitum)
|---(1)---|-------(2)-------| |------(2)-------| |------(2)-----| and so on.
Regards.
