  1. Following the various guides I attempted to convert a monsters inc divx into a vcd. I know my home dvd player (cyberhome) recognises vcds because i have saved my own dv edited in Pinnacle Studio 7 as a vcd and these have played fine.
For the conversion I used TMPGEnc. I did not separate the audio first, however the resulting mpeg plays fine on my computer. I used easycd 5 to make the vcd which works fine on the computer. It seems to stumble shortly after recognising the disc is vcd 2.
Anyone advise on how I can succeed?

  2. You may have to extract the audio before you can encode it. Follow the steps exactly including using virtuall dubb to decompress and convert the audio then put that decompressed wav file in tmpg as your source audio and try reincoding the mpg and see if it works in your dvd player.

Usually dvd players are very picky on how you incode the file.

did you burn it to the same type of media as the vcd that works??
sometimes certain players don't like certain types of cd-r's, they only cost .50¢ a piece so try maybe a different cd-r brand
