I ripped all DVD files to my HD, used IFOedit to remove extra audio, subtitles, etc. The new folder is 3.94 gigs and plays fine in IFOedit. I open STOMP and select Data and choose the VIDEO_TS folder. I click record and within 3 seconds, Stomp kicks out with an error. Doesnt say what the problem is. PrimoDVD does the same thing.

    I have :
    VTS_01_0 - VTS_01_5
    VIDEO_TS.ifo
    VIDEO_TS.buf
    VIDEO_TS.vob

Like i said it plays fine in IFOedit and not sure why STOMP is erroring. ANY ideas???

  2. Hey first which version of stomp do you have? Second thing is there is an option under the data options that is check marked which state "recognize VIDEO_TS AUDIO_TS per dvd specifications" or something like that. With this checked it looks at your VIDEO_TS.ifo file to see if all of the required files there. If you did not strip this flix down and create a new ifo with ifo edit and are trying to burn the folder without the other menu files stomp wont let it burn and give you an error. If you go through the wizard and get details on the error it will be a media type error. there is a guide on the home page with how to use ifoedit for this. Otherwise the folder needs all of the other vt_02_0...vt_03_0 ifo and bup. sometimes the dvd also requires other .vob files that are used for icons or film company logo animations, these vob will be needed as well without the new VIDEO_TS.IFO. I hope this is understandable and helps let me know, i was having the same issues with splitting up large dvd's while maintaining all the menus and original quality.

    i have version 4.10.

Instead of selecting DATA disc, i used the wizard function and choose make a data disc. Selected my VIDEO_TS folder and hit burn. Its going as now and NO errors. I will find out in 45 minutes if it works.

  6. had this before, create a folder AUDIO_TS (dont need nothing in it)
put that in your data job on primo along with your VIDEO_TS.

    SHOULD BURN WITHOUT ERRORS.

  8. go to www.stompinc.com for update, it still sounds like you have a problem in your video_ts folder, i never add an audio_ts folder, should work fine, get the update, if that doesnt fix your problems then check into what is listed in your Video_ts file
    Iam have ao4/104
    running stomp 4.5
    did you update your firmware?

  10. Hi everybody,

I have a problem with this subject too. I will tell at first, the process what i'm doing. I have already a dvd-r. Let's say MIB2. So everything on the disc works and is already fixed. But i want to add Dutch subs(i'm from the Netherlands) Now i use DVD decrypter. I'm ripping the video file and the audio file. Then i use DVD Maestro. I delete the menu. I put the m2v file, the ac3 file and the dutch subs together. I import the chapterlist. Then i compile everything.

I use Record Now Max 4.50. I choose for the Data option and i add the Video_ts and the Audio_ts. When i go to "tools" and then "options" and look at "Data Disc" the option "recognize theVideo_ts and Audio_ts folders per the dvd specification" is marked. Then i start record and everything goes fine. I can play it on my Sony 725D and Lenco 02.

Now a little change. I want a menu on my movie. I use IFO Updater for this. I have now the new folder with the Dutch subs and a folder with all the original files. From the folder with the Dutch subs, i keep the Vob files where the movie is in and i put the VTS_01_0.IFO file away to a different place. Then i add all the files(except the Vob files with the movie) in the new folder. Then i combine the VTS_01_0.IFO files.
Now i go to Record Now Max again and i add the Video_TS and the Audio_TS again. Now, when i try to burn, i got an Terminated error and it won't start. I go to "options" and uncheck the option "recognize theVideo_ts and Audio_ts folders per the dvd specification"
    Now i can burn it.
But the result: On the Lenco it works great but on the Sony 725D i see for 14 seconds the intro of Universal. But that's it and it stops. It won't go to the menu.

Can somebody please help me with this problem? Or does somebody know a way to burn, so that i can play my dvdr's on my Sony.

    Thanks

    Blackadder

  11. Hey thats what i was discussing in my above post, the option in the data section must be selected for stomp to burn the data correctly so the players and standalones can find the data and lock up, i have been through this entire problem a couple months ago and almost went mad. Like i said above stomp will check your VIDEO_TS.ifo to make sure that all the files are accounted for prior to burning, if you are missing anything and have not corrected the video_ts.ifo stomp will spit out an error and not allow a burn ( the error details can be check if you use the wizard and after the error pops you can click more details, it will be a media incompatible error or scratched surface error, check it out for yourself), when bypassing the check box in the data section i was only able to sucessfully burn images as well as file rips of dvd's that where under the 4.5 gig and didnt not need any tweaking to the ifo dvd-5's. Other wise your going to be burning coasters. My second issue spurred from updating my firmware to the wack 1.32 on my ao4, this supposed fix for a 4x media issues was just a cover up to remove CMD media and Ritek discs from burning due to royalties and other fun business tactics. My stomp(at that time 4.1) had problems sending packets to the drive with this firmware. Stomp tech supports informed me that reinstallation of the software would fix that as well as the new version 4.5 which i was then sent a beta. You will also need to clean your registry of all veritas data and then reinstall. Stomp will rerecognize the drive. This was a problem i asume with its on the fly update for new drives feature, anyways it cleared things up. Check out www.firmware-flash.com and go into the forums, they have several patches and firmware fixes to downgrade or trick you a04 into using a different version. I now am using 1.31 with my ritek media burning @ 2x. There also is a wonderful 2x4all wich will allow 2x burning for all ooh :P if you are interested i can post how i typically rip dvd 2 dvd-r. I personally enjoy the full quality and menus. If the dvd is largers then 4.5 I either remove what i can or in most cases just split the dvd to 2 dvd-r's with menus and burn onto Primedisc double sided dvd-r media( primedisc is manufactured by ritek) which was one of the issues that arose from the 1.32 firmware. Let me know... Snoochy

  12. it's not stomp, it's what you did in IFOedit. did you GET VTS sectors?

part of what I like about Stomp Record Now v4 is that when the Recognize DVD ... is checked it will reject the burn if your VIDEO_TS folder and files is not up to par. It took me a while to check the error logs but you can see the on what caused the error.

I went back into IFOedit, got the VTS sectors and retried it in Stomp, this time it burned and playback worked fine.

I have a A04 for my burner. Even though Power DVD will play an IFO edited file ( even if the VTS sectors have not been gotten ) Stomp is my last line of defense for coasters in the event I forget a step.

BTW I have burned a full 4.3 Gb video DVD, I use win2k sp2 with my drives using NTFS except the boot drive, which is fat32.
