hello, im trying to rip a dvd to svcd, and i want my svcd to have
switchable subtitles.
i know i can do it with dvd2svcd. but it crashes in the audio part
of it. i have no idea why.
so im looking for a way to do it without dvd2svcd.
i have looked in the guides but there was nothing there about this thing.
it whould be grate if you had some ideas of how to do it.

You can use either I-Author or WinSubMux to multiplex the subtitles into your mpg stream. DVD2SVCD uses WinSubMux btw.
To rip the subtitles from your vobs use SubRip. If you are going to use I-Author to mux then rip to I-Author format, if you are going to use WinSubMux to mux then rip to philips SVCD Designer format.
Btw: I-Author only multiplexes cvd style subs and WinSubMux lets you choose between CVD and SVCD style subs. Different dvd players require different formats so if it doesnt work the first time try using the other format. -
thanks for your reply adam,
ill try it out, from what i have tested on my dvd player
both formats of subs are supported.
so i guess i will have no problem.
thanks againHELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE
