  1. Hi ,

    O.k

    1.2ghz athlon
    win2k pro
    512mb pc133
    wintvgo
    via 133 chipset
    abit kt7a-raid v1.2(newest drivers etc)
    3x40gb 7200 WD
    1x80gb 7200 WD
    GF3 Ti500
    dvd drive cd drive etc.....
    sound blaster audigy

o.k,I think I've remembered everything.... Before you say it , no. This isn't a Post Boast. I think I would have to upgrade a little before I even thought about doing that...

Anyway, oh yes my problem. Right.Capturing in 720x 572(plus, I tried various other hi-res's)and you can almost set your watch by the fact, that nearly every 10 minutes (10m.40s to 11m.05s Near here somewhere)
it'll drop one frame. One frame? Pffffftt you are possibly saying. However, I'm finding this quite annoying. Coupled with the fact that I've just spent nearly 8 hours straight! trying to figure what the problem is. And surely, you can imagine how tedious it can be.Everytime you try out an idea you think may work, you have to wait ten goddamn minutes!!.... O.k hmmmmmmmmmm calm yourself.... shhh , shh now... Ten minutes from the minute I start capture and every tenish(give or take a few second, over/under) minutes after the last drop in virtualdub... tried av_io and it just crashes out where the virtualdub would just usually drop a frame. That Coincidence suggests , there is something perhaps wrong here that requires expert help(you guys),, lemme think is there anything else you need to know........

Other things you may need to know:
Huffyuv 2.1.1 (various configurations of this)
    audio PCM 44.1
    latest raid controller

that is all I can think of... now someone may say, capture at lower res... NO!.. there is no point in that now is there...

So go ahead help me... PLEASE!... no, but seriously do help me.Post anything you got. Nevermind how radical.

    thanks,

    dfgh(brain pain)

hmm, first this I would do (based on expeirence) is yank out that SB card
and put in a cheap one. This may or may not cure your final 1 frame,
but soundblasters R nortorious for stealing system resources, ie, PCI clock.
    etc.

Well, that one idea off the top of my head.

  3. The most likely cause is simply a slight clock difference between the capture card and the soundcard. It is benign and VirtualDub will drop a frame or two two keep AV sync.
