I'm new on this dvd copy thing and not a computer know-how either, so this question may be really really stupid, but i was wondering if someone can help me. Is it possible to ripping to VCD from a dvd player? i don't have a dvd-rom. i have a cd-rw and a dvd player. is there anyway i can connect dvd player to my computer and somehow rip dvd to a vcd?

Then you would a need a capture card and the source would
now be analog.
So skip that idea and get DVD-ROM drive.
If you do not have any bays left, they make combo CDRW/DVD.
