chat,
great program. This blows away other approaches. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
bug report: I first copy the DVD image as an iso file to my hard drive. After mounting the iso the movie normally have a name but not always (for example, the movie Thelma and Louise). DVD2DVD-R lists this movie in the 'Source' window as F: []. After pressing go, DVD2DVD-R starts creating files in the root directory for whichever drive is specified in the 'Destination' field. Since the file has no name, the files .ECT and .AVS and later the created file .VAF are created without a name for the 8.3 naming convention. When CCE starts up it does not find its .ECT file and immediately fails.

Please can you give me some feedback if the encoding and authoring works properly with 'ForcedFilm'? I'am specially interested in the chapterpoints and movielenght. It is possible, that i have to modify some calculations, but i can't verify it myself (i have no NTSC).
Pulldown is not yet included in the process. This will come in the future.
@robw
I thing the problem is the Image you've created, not DVD2DVD-R. Try to rip the DVD with DVDDecrypter in ISO-Mode.

chatwalker,
this prog simply roxxx cause it chooses automatic the bitrate, everything goes nice and smooth, thx a lot,
concernign to the last prob on forum, i dont have that prob, ever file is created correctly, no probs,
i have one question,
do u plan to include a recovery step? if process fails in the middle? or u plan to choose vob files automatic from HD? so the desencrypt process can be passed and increase speed of dvd2dvdr process. i dont remember more questions. -
@Chatwalker
First I want to say Thanks for all your great work! It really is a great thing you are doing. Second I wonder if you could put an item on the feature list. This feature would allow the user to specify the path on the destination area. I have found some (Contact) DVDs don't have a label name and I get a PM error after the RIP process (permission denied), which I think has to do with the destination path of d:\\.ecl (for example). I am using version 1.3. -
I must have missed something...any idea where ver 1.3.1 is? I found 1.3.0. Thanks for any directions. Great prog, btw.

Could you please tell me the web site where I can get the latest version 1.3.1 of your GREAT software?
Your web site is in GERMAN and I am unable to login!

I'm trying to rip U-571. It's 16:9, but the dvd2dvd-r identifies it as a 4:3 film.
How can i change it? I have the same problem whith "tomorrow never dies" (the film is 2:35 and the program says 4:3)
Thanks in advance
P.D.: excuse my bad english, i'm spanish -
Go to the link on the very first post and register on the site and then once regged go to downloads and you can download new 1.3.1 version..
-
Just a quickie
I've got dvd2dvdr 1.2.0 installed, but just downloaded 1.3.1, if I install the new version will it automatically overwrite the old version, or do I need to uninstall the old version first??
cheers

I encode and author using Ifoedit 0.95. Languages and subtitles works perfect. However movie length NOT... The original movie was 27 min long. Even when the encoded movie is 27 min long, the movie ends at 21min and from that point until 27 min the encoded picture was a black picture with an Avisynth warning...The funny thing is that the movie was encoded completely. I think that the time counter is running slowly. Even the chapters points where the same, but they were at diferent part of the movie. For example, Chapter #2 in the original movie was at 4:11. The new encoded movie was also at 4:11 but this part was at 5:06 in the original movie.

I had the same problem it's some kind of AVISYNTH error. The encoded movies are unusable. I am doing NTSC.

My question is to any of you that know what you are doing
I am new to all of this.. so please have patience with me
Using dvd2dvdr, what do I need to do after its process is done?
I have a .m2v file, the chapterfile, etc..
Do I then have to run pulldown myself? Use IfoEdit to author the CD?
Any help is appreciated.. just a small checklist of what you do after this process is complete would be great
Thanks -
@kaos
I'm with you on this, i've never even tried to rip a dvd to a dvd-r. Can anyone point us towards a guide for this program? -
Yes this program hit the "street" last month and I have used it since WITHOUT a single problem. It will go far.All you need is IFOEDIT version 0.95 and a burner software..However I am awaiting the lastest version of Ifoedit so I can have a title page and menu system...

To complete the dvd once they have been ripped thru dvd2dvdr you will need to do the following to complete your discs. i don't bother ripping the subtitles but if you have ripped subtitles then there is a guide in this topic that shows how to add and change subtitles.
1. start - IfoEdit 0.95
2. Select - 'DVD Author' -> 'Author new DVD'
3. in the field 'video' enter the path to the file 'Video_0xE0_NEW.M2V'
4. in the field 'Audio' the paths to the files 'Checked_Audio_0x.XX
5. in the field 'Scene Changes/Chapters' the path to the file 'CellTimes. txt'
6. in the field 'Destination' a path to a file 'VIDEO_TS', generated will should in that the DVD
7. Click 'OK'
8. click 'Save'
9. Close - IfoEdit
10. Start - IfoEdit
11. click 'Open' and select the new place file 'VTS_01_0.IFO'
12. click 'Get VTS Sectors'
13. Generate or burn now image.
I use nero to burn using the dvd video option.
Hope this helps -
for CHATWALKER
Solved the problem with U-571 film. Just run infoedit and change aspect ratio under .IFO file from 4:3 to 16:9. It seems a bug into DVD2DVR. It does not recognize correctly aspect ratio from some films.
Thanks to all -
Is there any way to activate "PROGRESSIVE FRAMES" fon movies that DOESN'T requiere encoding?
If I make a movie (like SPIDERMAN) without activating Progressive Frames I can see it in my SONY, PHILIPS and PLAYSTATION DVD Players, but I CAN'T in my PIONEER.
If I activate Progressive Frames I can see it in all the players.
The problem is with movies that doesn't requiere encoding, in those movies I can't activate progressive frames option. Is there another way or tip to do it?
Any answer will be apreciated

Hi
The 'ForceFilm'-Option doesn't work proper. I'm working on it.
Sorry, but it is very hard to make Software for Hardware i've never seen and i couldn't test.
I hope i can fix this the next days.

Just an information to get ImgTool 0.99.x to run.
If the program doesn't start, try to reinstall Nero. In most cases this will help. Maybe there are problems with some later installed burning programs.

Hi
This program lookes really cool.
I was able to rip my first dvd ever (never had time to get into all the other ways with alot of diffrent progs etc). The movie i ripped was a test for me, Snatch, it didnt require any recoding so it wasnt any probs at all.
Now when im testing to rip a movie thats to big to fit on a dvd5 it will not get rigth at all...
Each time i rip it with DVD2DVDR i get the same size on the output, 4.9 Gb. I tried several times to raise the reserved space, from 100 Mb to 2000Mb ; ) and the output is still 4.90 Gb.
Im only using DVD2DVDR (1.2) to rip the movie, i have Cinemacraft 2.5 installed but i dont know why i have it, guess its the program doing the riping part?
I think that DVD2DVD2 tries to start cce after the rip is done, but im not sure, i get some kind of error mess, is it supposed to run cce after it riped the movie?Im Nyq, who are u? -
@Chatwalker
Hi,
I've in my PC CCE 2.50, and CCE 2.64.
DVD2DVD-R show me both options (2.50 or 2.64) in Encoder.
Can i use CCE 2.64 or i need only to use CCE 2.50 ?
Rgds,

Anyone have any insight on my problem installing this software. Unfortunately the installation is in German, and I have no idea of the problem. I see an X though, and it wont install. Do I have to have the Service Pack installed on Windows XP?
Thanx
