I was referring to the CCE & MPEG2 information. The robshot method (Getting Best out of CCE) was already mentioned in this thread, but before applying it, I recommend reading the other thread. Save some time and get better quality.

@robw!
Wow, thanks man, this seems like alot less hassle!
I have one last dumb question, then Il stop buggin you I swear.
So do you use the pulldowns options integrated with dvd2dvd-r or you do not check them, and perform the pullldown manually, or both??
And we use the drop_frame file not the other one for final maestro compiling.
thanks a million!!!! -
program works fine if i set it to CBR if i set it to VBR 2 pass it goese to 50% and then says the two diles are not the same and then lists the 2 files that are diffrent any ideas

Tried for hours to get this to install, i mean i extractred it to
a program folder, created folders in folders for dvd2avi/mpeg2dec
,just get errors,running xp pro/without sp1,cause i aint gonna
kill my system again...site is in german i guess,and i can
read it or translate it either...maybe someone will create guide -
@Frenetic24
you can just use the pulldown AND drop_frame through DVD2DVD-R. Works great. Of course if you wanted to you would get the same result if you ran pulldown yourself and set the "-drop_frame true" flag. Either way works. -
I've gotta ask the question ... has anyone compared this program to the new app Dvd2One? Both apps seem to produce just the main movie stream, only this new app of Dvd2One seems to be so, so much faster.
Does Dvd2One give me less quality? Does DVD2DVDR give me something that DVD players down the road will be able to use? Is there any technical reason to use DVD2DVDR over Dvd2One? (except price, of course) -
I have been following the posts with interest & v135 is so much more stable over 134. It has not once failed to complete the whole process.
Last night i tried doing an NTSC. Granted i just left all the settings the same as for pal & it failed. After reading the post that joepic posted i used bit rate viewer and changed the settings including force film & also checked pulldown. it seemed to have completed and worked. it at least plays with chapters on the computer & seems to be in sinc.
What i do not understand is all the posts that say ifo edit does not work any you need to author with Maestro.
There is no subs and only the 6 channel audio.
Has it worked because there is no subs, or has 135 fixed the ntsc ifo problem? -
I tried DVD2ONE and the quality is less then what you get with DVD2DVDR, with DVDR I see no loss of picture quality compared to the original, with "ONE" I can see some very slight pixelation in the background area's, but most people would rather live with a 10-20% picture loss compared to waiting 4 hours to re-encode with DVDR, compared to 20-30 minutes with "ONE". I have no idea how its re-encoding the entire movie that fast and still get a very good picture, but this also may improve with future ugrades, so I am keeping an eye on this program for future releases and $44.95 is not a bad price.

from what I understand about CCE is that it scans the movie for less active sceens that would be harder to notice if encoded, and encodes them, but thats what I have just read somewhere, can anyone confirm this? I always just lets it encode when I am sleeping or at work! DVD ripping kinda makes it hard to play CS! LOL, guess I'll have to build a new pc soon!
Thanks alot,

HELP!
I don't know what has happened, but I don't think I'm doing anything different than before. Whatever the reason I'm now able to only get the DVD's I'm burning to work on my computer DVD players. I'm doing NTSC discs, and I'm using the latest verson of DVD2DVS-R (1.3.5) and everything appears fine UNTIL I get to the point of playing the discs in the DVD players I own (APEX-AD-1200 & Samsung DVD -V2000). When I use them in the players they come up saying that the DVD is not compatible. but when I use them in the DVD players on my computer systems they play fine. I have previously made discs that play fine on my DVD players but I'm completely stumped now. I used ImgTools 0.99.8 to try to make an image and now everytime I do this it says 'Missing following file
'VIDEO_TS.VOB'! Do you want to continue? Your created disc will possible not be playable?' Is this what is the problem with my discs? If I use DVD2DVD-R it doesn't allow me to select a particular file, does it?
Help, I don't know what else to try at this point. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer. -

A new version (1.3.6) of DVD2DVD-R will be available soon. From Chatwalkers site:
"At the weekend, there will be a new version of DVD2DVD-R Online. This uses for the first time the MPEGDecoder. dll of NIC which works significantly faster than the previously used mpeg2dec.dll. It is now also possible to edit the avs-Script as well as to rip from the hard disk. Also a path can be indicated for the CCE. There are also little bug fixes and layout changes. webmaster@dvd2dvd-r.de" -
YEs please me needs faster encoding...and i am a NTSC kinda Guy... This program rocks, the quality is excelent... Thanks for all your time and effort...Mighty. :P
-
Version 1.3.6 should be available this weekend and will incorporate the following changes:
Ver 1.3.6 [30.01.2003]
- now using MPEGDecoder by Nic wich is more faster (DVD2AVI and mpeg2dec.dll no longer needed)
- AspectRatio-Bug fixed (only occurs with wrong mastered DVD's; for example James Bond)
- GUI-changes
- now it is possible to enter the CCE-Location))))
- ripping from HDD possible (there must be a directory named \VIDEO_TS\ in the root)
- Script-Bugs for 'DropFrame' fixed
- GOP-Lenght for NTSC modified
- AVS-Script can now be edited -
Like the new version, it is quicker, i now get 1.61 frames per second over the older version of 1.2. I cannot get it to open from the hard drive as of yet, even when i rename the directory VIDEO_TS. will have another go later. Congratulations on an excellent program.

@clairehoward
if you make a VIDEO_TS folder on root of the hard disc it picks it up automatically -

version 1.3.7 is available at Chatwalker's site
http://www.dvd2dvd-r.de/
You must register to gain access to the download section (quick and simple ... in German). To start, click on the word "Abmelden" in the upper left, then follow directions. If you get stuck on any German words you can always translate using one of the free online services such as:
http://www.freetranslation.com/ -
You can also get it on my site : http://users.pandora.be/DVD2DVD-R/

I've just downloaded version 1.3.7 from _BK'S_ site, (thanks _BK_) and I have a couple of quick questions. One, I read that with this new version you would be able to select files from the HD and I read where Chatwalker said as long as their is a "VIDEO_TS" folder on the HDD, I can select it. Well, I put a VIDEO_TS folder on my C: drive, which is my only drive, and DVD2DVDR still didn't detect it. Although, now that I am thinking about it, there were no files in the VIDEO_TS folder, although, I would think that DVD2DVDR would at least show that the file itself was there, and there was definitely no way I could double click the c: drive icon within DVD2DVDR and lead the program to the folder when my movie was ripped anyway. Can anyone confirm that you can actually encode movies from the HDD?
Also, I know DVD2DVDR incorporates IFOEdit which I don't use for authoring .M2V files, so I was wondering if the new version STILL automatically run IFOEdit to author, or if people would have to use IFOEdit manually? If DVD2DVDR still authors with IFOEdit automatically, how can I disable IFOEdit? I don't see any fucntions for disabling IFOEdit in version 1.3.7. Thanks in advance for any help with these two things.
