@ROBW, thanks once again for the info. I must be going crazy or something because I just checked out the movie I imported into Maestro under 4:3 which was originally 16:9 and my end result was a movie that was 4:3 "fullscreen." The movie was Me, Myself & Irene, NTSC. I have been using so many different programs/tools, I must of confused something. But I absolutely made sure and the original is 16:9 anamorphic, and the DVD I have from Maestro's imported assets is fullscreen. The truth is, I prefer fullscreen over widescreen any day, because I don't have a widescreen TV and I just like fullscreen better. My question now ROWB is...can I mess anything up by doing this on other movies in the future? This movie didn't have much action, so I don't know if a movie that does will have any affect? I didn't watch the movie all the way through, but I scanned it chapter by chapter and I saw that it looked great at fullscreen. I just want to know if I could make it 4:3 for movies which are originally 16:9 in the future. The guides all say to just change it to 16:9, but they don't say if you want to have fullscreen then leave it 4:3, and they don't even say if the movie is originally 4:3 then leave it at 4:3. I am assuming that if the original is 4:3 , then I could just leave it 4:3 in Maestro, right? I hope so..lol. Anyway, if you get a chance, please let me know. And thanks again for your time and help ROBW. I appreciate it!

Hello
I used DVD2DVDR on Pal Lord of the rings, everything seemed to go well but when i checked all the audio streams were 1hour 40 mins(first disc) and video stream was 1hour 20 mins! what happened to the other 20mins of movie?
Ime giving older version 1.3.2 a go to see if it works any better.
It would be nice in future versions to be able to skip internal ripper and use DVDdecryptor and just use DVD2DVDR on previously ripped movies, and how about a recovery feature alah dvd2svcd.
But thanks to the author for this program, its a step on the way to making copying dvd's so much easier.red red wine you make me feel so fine -

I have a couple of questions. I hope someone can help me out with these.
1. I have encoded (use cce 2.5) and authored the dvd, but when I play the dvd, there is a cinemacraft encoder log in the bottom left corner of the movie. How to get rid of this log?
2. I have a 8 gb dvd, Rules af engagement, the main movie files is about 6 gb and the menus/extras are 2 gb. I want to encode all the files so they fit on a 4,7 gb dvd. Is this possible using dvd2dvdr or do I need to use smartripper and maestro dvd for this? I think there most be a way using dvd2dvdr and ifoedit, am I wrong?
3. How should I know which iDCT Algorithm method to use for best resultat? I also wonder how many passes to use in the multipass VBR mode. I set it to 10 to get the best quality, but that option took 14 hours. Is it recommended to use 2 passes as the default use?
I would really appreciate if someone could answear those questions! -
Chatwalker has now posted his latest release to DVD2DVD-R version 1.3.4
He included the following comments which I have roughly translated here:
It is to be sure not yet Christmas, but there is nevertheless a new version. The CCE-control was revised and should now again function without problems. The Authoring with IfoEdit was also completely automated. Only the alteration of subtitle colors must still be done manually. If the setting 'start Encoding' was activated, do not manually close CCE (it happens automatically on completion within 30sec). Occasionally your keyboard and mouse are blocked. Don't be concerned about this. webmaster@dvd2dvd-r.de

@ ROBW, thanks for the info on the newest version. I am a little confused though. You wrote an excerpt from ChatWalker which says IFOEdit is now automated. That basically means all the authoring will also now be down automatically with the current version of DVD2DVDR? If so, why would anyone want to use the newest version knowing that there is a bug when authoring and the time being much shorter due to the frames being showed faster? Has that bug been rectified? If not, why would ChatWalker want to continue to use IFOEdit? Thanks in advance. I will stick with 1.3.3 until I know for sure.

@defense
I agree. Hopefully, using IfoEdit to automatically author is an option that can be turned on/off. I haven't looked at the new release yet ... -
@mosh
i know this method
i make 50 movies with this
but in one movie i must make changes in subtitles (some translation)
QUESTION IS ...... how to decrypt subs (SUP format ) to be edited

First, for NTSC videos that are primarily "film" type, you must use the "force film" option in DVD2DVD-R. Basically, this option makes DVD2AVI work properly. This is a program that DVD2DVD-R is using.
Second, for videos with which you have used the "force film" option, you must also use pulldown. Now if you don't want subtitles, your job is pretty simple. Just run pulldown without any options. If you want subtitles you must do the two-step approach that I outlined in my previous message.
Third, if you used "force film" and "pulldown" you can not use IfoEdit. It will produce a result that is too short. This has been extensively discussed in this forum and I suggest you go back and scan for this information. Basically, it comes down to IfoEdit authoring a video that has only 80% of the original frames. Thus a 60 minute video plays in 48 minutes, etc. There is no current way around this and that is why many people are struggling with alternatives. If you want subtitles and ac3 (dolby) sound you have a limited selection of authoring software to choose from. DVD Maestro works well but it is no longer sold or supported and presumably will no longer be upgraded.
So for Region 2 folks everything is GREAT! -
How does this utililty work with or against Doitfast4U?
See here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40091&highlight=doitfast4u
Can they be used together in any way? Or are they mutually exclusive?
I'm gathering my tools and reading over all the methods before I start backing up my DVD's. However, it appears I may just want to wait for Derrow to fix NTSC support in Ifoedit first?......

sorry dc91gt but i cant see how Ifoedit being "broken" could have caused this problem.
Anyhow using older version of DVD2DVDR has solved the problemred red wine you make me feel so fine -

Problems using DVD2DV-R 1.3.4 with automated muxing no sound sometimes and copy and paste subcolor don't work anymore....so version 1.3.3 works better for me no errors.

Just backup my origanal of XXX today NTSC, doesn't need to be downsized. Used version 1.3.4 and I LOVE IT... even the subs where correct, and it went through IFOEDIT 0.9.5 like a dream. The only thing i had to do is copy the colours for the subs, and burn it to disk....maybe we could get and automated burn process?. For total lazyness lol, DVD works fine.
thanks again chat. -

Do I have to uninstall the old version 1.33 before I install the new version?
Maybe should go back to old version 1.33 it worked perfect, but this new auto ifoedit looks fine. -
I just copied Minority Report, but can anyone tell me why it take 6hrs for it to do the whole CCE process. Is there a setting or something in the program to make it go a little faster.
Does anyone have an answer? -
Merciless what are your pc specs? with my setup it usually takes around 2-3 hours to encode a film.
red red wine you make me feel so fine -
Encoding @ VBR 2-passes can take appr. 8 hours on a 1.4 GHz CPU...
This is my standard setup and the best quality setup, I guess.
If you take 1-pass VBR, this will take about 2-3 hrs on a 1.4 GHz CPU.
And CBR will take even less.
Everything depends on the film legth, the CPU used and the encoder setup!
And quality rulez, doesn't it?
