    Hi all,
I have a Leadtek WinFast 2000 XP and do capturing with
the Leadtek software and Ulead VideoStudio 6.
After a few capture runs I have always the following problem:
The screen freezes after 40 to 60 seconds during the capture
process. After a new installation of DirectX and the drivers, the
problem is solved for the next few capturings. When it comes to
a screen freeze, it will reoccur at every capture process until I
reinstall the above mentioned software. It looks like some drivers
    have been damaged ?
I had a few times success in only reinstalling the DirectX 8.1b drivers,
I tried also older versions of DirectX, but there was the same behaviour.

After a few capturings I have always to reinstall the software.
Has anybody an idea or experienced the same ?

    My system:
Athlon C 1GHz, VIA chipset, 256 MB RAM
Win98SE, PCI latency timer patch (George Breeze), DirectX 8.1b

  2. I have been having the same problem for ages. System freezes at random times during capturing. If i did a fresh install of winxp - it would capture fine for a few times then the lockups would start again. I have tried everything - via 4in1 drivers, pci latency drivers, other capture cards. This is driving me mad. The lock ups only occur if video and audio is captured together. capture video fine for hours on its own.
Is this a problem with via chipsets or winxp maybe. Please, if someone has had the same problems and managed to fix it - please let me know.

i have used avertv and wintv capture cards
