  1. Hey,

I was just curious if anyone uses rechargeable batteries for their
digital camera. My camera takes 4 AAs, and I run through them
like they're goin out of style. At Circuit City, I saw a charger with
    4 AA batteries for $40. It said "Manufacturer's Warranty = 0000", and
the clerk told me that it means lifetime. So when the batteries stop
    working, they'll replace it.

I've also seen much cheaper versions in Walmart and stuff,
so just curious if anyone has any opinions.

    Thanks!

  2. Yes, I use this charger with NI-MH batteries, normal alkaline batteries wont even power my camera on.

  3. cool, thanks!

Is there a big difference between the ni-cd and ni-mh batteries?
How welll does that one work that you have.....do the batteries
last a while after you charge them? I'd like to charge them
for an event, and have the camera last through the day...
    then I can just recharge.

  4. Have not tried the NI-CAD, I think they should last longer. My camera is known for its high battery drain so they dont last that long. If I am planning on using it a lot I will take 8 batteries out with me.

  5. Sorry, got that round the wrong way the NI-MH will last longer that the NI-CAD. I had LI-ION on my mind for some reason.

  6. Try to buy high power Ni-MH AA batteries! They make a difference. The highest rated AA Ni-MH batteries I've seen in Australia are 1700 or 1800 mAh (milliamp hours).

The highest rated NiCad AAs are only around 1100-1200 mAh.

Ni-MH rechargable batteries also don't suffer from the so called "memory effect" of Ni-Cad rechargables.

The only advantage Ni-Cad batteries "might" have is if you are going into cold weather... Actually, I don't know if they have an advantage over Ni-MH, but it definitely does over Alkaline batteries in the cold.

    Regards.

  7. thanks for the info.
what's this so called memory effect of Ni-Cad rechargeables.

I guess I'm just debating between the pretty expensive set (with charger)
for like $40, or the cheaper set of 4 AAs and a charger for like $20.
