    Can somebody please help?

If I encode an film with TMPGenc (which takes a good while ) then try to burn it with Nero, Nero will always want to encode it again( another couple of hours ). Can this be right or are there certain settings I can use on Nero to stop it encoding again.
Do I have to use the VCD settings on Nero? It does it on every film that I encode and seems such a waste of time?

    Please help?

    Thanks

that is an understatement. nero really does suck at encoding. I always uncheck the "make compliant cd" box so nero wont even give me the message that its not proper and asks if you want nero to encode.

    Hi,

thanks to you both, but me being such a dumb ass is still a bit perplexed ????
So I do an encode with TMPGenc - then encode with nero but uncheck the bit where it says 'make compliant vcd'? and also the CDi bit? and this will stop it encoding again?

    Wowwww soooo coooool

    cheers to both of you

  5. Just make sure that when you encode it the first time with TMPGEnc, that you load a VCD template so that the resulting mpeg file is VCD compliant. Nero should then burn with no warning message and no reencoding.

    thanks Craigtucker

I made a template for burning onto a single VCD as per the guides over there <----------- hehehe

i used it a couple of times, to encode films then got fed up with Nero doing it again. So I just started using Nero straight without TMPGenc. Nero always throws up the warnings even though I have used TMPGenc. Guess this is the part where i uncheck the CD Compliant and CDi bit and just burn?

  7. Yes, what you are creating is an XVCD, because this is not within the strict VCD specifications nero warns you that it is non compliant. You need to select ignore this message and burn anyway without reencoding and you will have an XVCD.

why not just use vcdeasy,d\l from the tools section along with forceaspi & then you can burn your vcd, xvcd, svcd or whatever with chapters.
read the guides on burning vcd's with vcdeasy. does anyone really still use nero to burn vcd's?? (LOL)
