Cannot Save Trimmed Clips in Ulead VS 6

I have Ulead VideoStudio 6.02 and I am capturing with the AVI format inside Ulead. When I try to save a trimmed clip from the AVI file, I get an error message that I canot save a trimmed clip with this AVI CODEC.

I post this here in hopes that someone else has had this issue and can shed some light on it for me.

It seems to me that I should be able to trim clips in Ulead, if I captured in Ulead.
