Hi There!
If I want to convert dvd to svcd using dvd2svcd, how much free space on hd do I need to have?

Depends on the movie and how long it is. i would say at least 6 gigs to 10 gigs. Just ripping the movie usually take 4 to 6 gigs, then you add in the wav file and the mpg file and then the mpeg file(s) that you burn. I would have a minimum of 10 or so.

Don't forget the space you need to split the resulting MPG file to fit 2 discs. Cause otherwise you might need to delete the VOBs first which will be very frustrating if the end result is not of the quality you want it to be (and so have to extract the vobs again)
