  1. sorry for the question if it been asked before, but i`ve recently downloaded a film from kazaa which i want to convert to vcd. i`ve tried using TMPGEnc, but had no luck.

i clicked on browse from the video source and loaded the file but got this message - "filename" can not open, or unsupported. the properties of the file is as follows:

Audio format: MPEG Layer-3,40 kBit/s, 24,000 Hz, Stereo

    Video format: 352 x 288, 54466 Frames, 20.000 Frames/Sec, 55 KB/Sec, Unknown Format.

can anyone shed any light onto this (preferably without flaming).

    many thanks

  2. Is the source in divix or mpeg.
If it is Divix it looks like your dont have codec installed
    Download Codec from:
    http://www.ksdivx.cjb.net/
    or

    tools section on this site.

  3. i have this problem too. to bypass it, i have to encode the avi into another avi using virtualdub with direct stream copy for video and full processing for audio to a pcm 44k output. then i can encode to mpg. you'll get better sound this way anyway. tmpegenc decodes off-standard sound poorly.
