I ripped my dvd using smartripper, used dvd2avi to get the wav,
and used tmpgenc to encode them to mpeg.
Video is fine, but sound at times is very tinny.
I have been reading posts but cannot find a solution.
In dvd2avi , under the 'Options' setting should
48 -> 44.1KHz be set to something (it is set to 'off'
at the minute).
Or is it a setting in tmpenc?
I hope someone can explain to me how to remove
the tinny sound.
Thanks,
Steven

Tinny sound is usually associated with poor sample rate conversion ( 48->44,1 ).
Most people agree that either BeSweet or TMPGenc with the SSRC sample rate conversion plugin are your two best options. Do a search and I'm sure you will find enough info to get started.
