  1. I have a movie as an avi file that I want to make into a vcd.

When played in windows media player, it opens quite big, about half the screen.

But after using TMPGenc it is about half the size of the avi, so when it is opened to fullscreen it is very pixalated.

What settings do I need to use in tmpenc? I tried 1:1VGA, 4:3 and 16:9 (the movie is 16:9 widescreen), I also use Fullscreen (keep aspect ratio 2) aswell.

Right-clicking on the .avi movie, and choosing properties, it says the dimensions are 640 times 272 pixels.

TMPGenc is making a mpeg of dimensions : 352 times 240

    Why the difference?

    Thanks for any help

  2. VCD standard IS 352*240 *288 for PAL) so TmpGenc is doing the right thing. If you want to make it bigger, try SVCD or DVD standards. I suggest you take a look at the WHATIS section to your left to help in your decisions.
