I am very interested in purchasing a DVD burner. However, I was wondering why DVD2SVCD can't be used for the entire encoding. I would like to do many movies with very little time involved. I don't care about any menu's. I just want to be able to do this in as little steps as possible. Can't I just use DVD2SVCD, adjust the settings like CD length, min., max., resize to get the DVD Mpeg. I'm assuming DVD's encoded material can't use cue/bin files, because every DVD to DVD-R guide I have read says to disable the CD image. However, can't I just take the created MPEGs and use an authoring tool like VCD easy to create fixed chapters? (I'm missing something here, aren't I) Anyway, is this possible? I would be even willing to sacrafice dolby 5.1 (sorry audiophiles) at the sake of simplicity if that is the factor preventing this to be done in one step like SVCD creation. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks

Actually I already looked at the guide. I'm not familiar with Ifoedit or DVDmeastro. (I guess I'll have to) I guess my question revolves around, "Why can't the whole thing be done on DVD2SVCD?" In other words why can't the settings be adjusted for DVD and create the images, then just burn them?
Thanks -
Because DVD2SVCD cannot create DVD images since its designed for SVCDs. Their structure is totally different.
If you give the guide a chance you'll find that DVD Maestro is super easy after following it through a few times.... -
That's what I thought. I just needed someone to tell me
. Thanks
I'll definitely give it a try (when I get the burner)
