    I have downloaded an avi file but divx wont play it and it wont convert to mpeg, i also downloaded a sub file whatever that is. Does anyone recognise my problem.

    You may not have the correct codec installed. Try installing the nimo lite codec pack

    Its also possible that it isnt a DivX not all AVI's are DivX.

    Open the file with virtual dubb and check the file info to see what codec was used on the avi.
