I am capturing from my Sony D8 to a compaq notebook with PCMCIA firewire card. Capturing (with a Ulead module) works o.k. When I look at the captured avi file later using Media Player, there are no dropped frames (also visually the scenes are o.k.). After conversion to either MPEG-1 or -2 at any resolution the generated MPEG files, viewed again with Media Player, look jerky (noticable during movements of camera or objects in the scene). Again: The original avi file does not have this problem! This is independent of the chosen data rate. Any hints? Thanks!!
