    I see there is firmware to make the Sony DRU500A burn to DVD+R at 4x instead of the rated 2.4X? I believe that it already does 4X to DVD-R?

    The drive currently supports 4x DVD-R, but for 4x DVD+R, you'll have to wait until December 9 when the revision E firmware update comes out.
