  1. I know that i can import in "wav" format dts/ac3 soundtracks and keeping the 5.1 format.

I ripped a dvd (the music part) and i have an .ac3/.dts file

How do i convert it to wav so that i can burn it to cd keeping the 5.1 sound?

  2. Besweet will convert an AC3 to 6 wave files, BUT -

It will not play on SVCD or VCD in that format - you can convert to Multichannel Mpeg but most players and amps are not compatible. You could make MiniDVD but same compatibility issue. Best choice is Prologic 2 encoding, which BeSweet will do.

Now if it is just audio, you can burn the AC3 to CD and apparently it will work as audio only.

  3. i am interested in audio cd only..............

So i have the following questions:

    1) Besweet is a standalone programm?
    2) It can decode dts as well?

    Thank you

  4. BeSweet is a GUI for TooLame, Azid and several others but comes packaged with most of them. Not sure if it handles DTS.

  5. BeSweet is another hideous kludge front end that I wouldn't pay 5-cents for because it is unintuitive, stupidly-designed, and just plain broken.

  7. You can try a program called HeadAC3he. It will create a wav and you can leave 6ch or downmix to 4 or 2 channel. Some people have success with it and others not so good. I have not used it for creating just cd audio. It works good for me to downmix dolby ac3 to 2 channel surround for svcd. I am not sure if it will convert dts.
