  1. Just Bought A new APEX 500w player and have a weird problem and am wonderinf if ANYONE else has had it. The player plays VCD's Fine BUT... Will not allow you to use the 'STOP' Button. The Only way to stop play is to eject the disk. The 'STOP' button works w/ audio and MP3 cd's not sure yet if it works w/ DVD play back. I am going to send back so your input is appreciated!! TIA!

I have glitches with my Apex 500W (read some of the recent posts on it, you'll find me everywhere), but this one ain't normal...

It could be the way you're authoring the CD, but sounds awfully fishy to me. Better swap and see if you can get a better unit...

  3. Thank you Homerpez. I am surprized you are the only one to respond to my topic. I was looking for anyone else who could have said yes or no they had the problem or not. I guess I did not word my message well. Any way... You answered my question as I was looking for! Thanks and well although I hate taking things back, it's still money and I should have a good one. Back to the store it goes. Have a good day! Later.

  4. Well my daughter and 2 uncles have bought a apex 500w from walmart and they have no problems at all. I test all my VCD's and SVCD on my Apex 600a, 660, Toshiba 2050 and my daughters 500w, they all play them back perfect.
The only thing that have been weird on my daughters APEX is that "one" store bought Enhanced music CD would no load up, it would freeze and lock up the player.
But get this I copied that CD over to a burned copy and the burned copy plays back fine.
These APEX 500W even playback the new 99min. CD-R's.

  5. My Apex 500W wal-mart special has a few glitches too...

Yes, some VCD"s that I make do not stop, so I need to press eject to get the VCD to stop.

I have had problems with glitchy audio on some DVD's.

I find that fiddling around with some of the menu options can often times "fix" some problems. I haven't bothered to bring the player back... the minor problems I'm finding aren't very annoying.

    Good luck_
