Need Suggestion: Capture TV/DV to SVCD & burn it on CD.

I really need help right here. I hope someone might give me some real suggestion to how to doing this.

    Capture Card: ATI TV wonderj
    Software: ATI MMC 7.6

I got something want to do with my Capture Card.

I want to record basketball game from TV (SVCD quality 480x480) and burn it to a VCD.

I want to have the schedule record fuction like the ATI MMC.

    --------------------

MY problem is the ATI MMC only let me record video for 640x240. What software is best to record SVCD video?? PowerVCRII?? what is your suggestion? I really want to know how ppl do it in vcdhelp forums..... please help.

I have the same card, ATI TV Wonder. First thing I would recommend you do is uninstall all of the ATI MMC software and download new drivers from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net Install those and make sure to specify your card and tuner in the dropdowns, I live in the USA so mine is "Phillips NTSC" in the tuner dropdown. Adjust it for wherever you are.

After that take a look at this:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/122161.php

You can't really capture at SVCD resolution and mpeg2 with what you have. Take a look at the guide in the link and try capping with picvideo at 19 if you have less than 40GB of hard drive space and use huffy if you have more than that. A good resolution is 352x480, that's half d1 and is a valid DVD resolution that you can resize to 352x240 and it will look pretty good. I get good capture-->SVCD with it anyway. Feel free to mail me if you have any questions.
entirely TOO much time on my hands

I just found out how to install MMC 7.7 with my TV wonder in Win98SE.

    http://www.pcphotovideo.com/

according to this webpage.. it said that SVCD compliant Video (has an SVCD profile) AND ... also makes fully compliant DVD Mpegs as well .. now has 48 kHz AUDIO !! ... yeah i get the 48kHz audio but it still only let me capture ### x 240 !!! do you know why... if I install the drivers from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net.... do i still get the same result??

I tried to install that driver before... but end up reformat my OS...

and the MMC Registry Tool by Stinky doesn't work really well with mmc 7.7

do you think that spend 15US to buy the PowerVCRII on ebay is good?? is there any big different with the demo version if I can crazk the demo to no time limt??
