  1. I've been using Bilestyle's guide to in sync SVCDs w/ffmpegX and have had great success but am now having a little trouble with VOBs over 4GB because of the QT limitation. I tried just ripping half of the DVD and then the other half to make each segment under 4GB but QT would still hang on a certain frame. I also tried demuxing and remuxing with various different apps to fix the timecode but I would end up with all the chapters demuxed separately. I then tried joining them together but that didn't work. Is there a way I can demux a VOB and end up with one .m2v file as opposed to a bunch of separate .m2v's?

  2. here's what i've done to make it work. i rip the audio and video off of the dvd. then i take the mpeg into mpegpower tool where you can split it into pieces that are under 2 gb. i then take each mpeg into quicktime to reencode them. after reencoding i use mpeg power tool to put the new mpeg's back together.

the only part that takes a while is the reencoding in quicktime. you can count on it taking 30-40 minutes depending on the size of the source file.

after i have the new mpeg i import the audio and video into dvdsp and build a new disk.

just use my program afropic... it has an option where you can choose the input size of the vob and it takes care of the rest for u.. plus u dont have to convert the ac3 on your own.. its does it all for you....

    any questions just ask

  4. Tried afropic and it gives me an error. Probably something I did wrong that is easy to fix.....
I just looked at the terminal output and noticed I have afropic installed in a folder w/spaces. Could that possibly be my problem? Thanks.

  5. no it's not the spaces, they are all accounted for. that's what the \ backstrokes are for, so the Terminal will accept them and the command will be able to execute.

Since you've already got the streams you can just mplex them seperatly, using somethink like MissingMpegTools @ <www.mac.com/rnc>.[/url]
