I just upgraded to a Creative Labs Audigy2 Sound Card.
Now, the ADS Instant DVD will not capture audio through the
Line Input! Worked fine with an SB Live.
(I tested the Line In on the Audigy 2, it works fine)
The ADS website FAQ says that for Audigy cards you have to use the
MICROPHONE input! But it records in MONO!![]()
I double checked this too (Funny, the Audigy install guide shows a
stereo jack plugging into the MIC input...)
Has anyone out there had this problem with this capture device and an
Audigy card? Any work-arounds?
Guess I'll have to put the SB Live back in for now...![]()

Ok, It's working but It's very strange.
The only way to get it to record with the Instant DVD through the
Line-In is to actually enalble the Line-In through the main
sound card out - If it's muted so you don't hear it through the
speakers it won't record anything...
On the SB Live you could mute the Line-In slider on the playback
section of the mixer, and it would record as long as the Line-In was selected in as the record device.
It's strange - both the output volume slider for Line-In and the
recording slider affect the recording level.
Guess I'll just have to remember to un-mute the line-in whenever I
want to record video... At least I don't have to pull the new sound card.
