Hi All,
After using Soft Encode- I can't get the .ac3 (5.1) to mux properly with the .m2v file. Tried using DVD Junior, and SpruceUp.
Also, during playback of the .ac3 file- it's fast (chipmunk-y).
I've encoded @ 48 kHz/ with different bit rates to no avail.
Can anyone share some 5.1 encoding parameters that has worked for them with Soft Encode (or recommend a different 5.1 encoding program).

If you mux using TMPGEnc (use the utility) can you import the resulting .mpg into your authoring program? That's what I do with Softencode AC3 to be able to author with DVD Workshop.

I was unaware (or misinformed) that Tmpge did not support 5.1 .ac3 files. It does?
What are the paramaters you use for encoding? Anything special I should know about? I don't know why I'm getting the "chipmunk" sound out of my .ac3 files.
Any advice much appreciated - I'm at a standstill for the past 5 days now!!

make sure you do high quality conversions from 44.1 to 48 (if you do, sounds like your main problem or bad offset or somthing) -
set the following for home dvd ac3 5:1
384 bit rate
48khz sample rate
dialog noramilization -31 to max -25 (normal is -27) -31 is off
mix level -707
all high pass filter . all low pass filters
surround channels 90 degree phase shift (optional - used only on some home decoders)
RF modulation protect - ON
Film Standard
or
Film Light
