Has anyone else had problems with Star War Episode II.
I am ripping with DVD Decrypter, re-coding with ReMpeg, and then put it together with IfoEdit.
All of this work fine but when I watch the movie before burning the opening sequence of the movie doesn't show right. It first shows the english words on the screen then follows with 2 other languages and repeats.

What's up.
I had the same problem with Star wars 1. I was going to 2 dvds. Still have not figured it out yet.
Hopefully someone out there can help us out.

Hi guys!
Don't know if this is right 'cos I haven't tried to rip either of the disks you mention ...... but, from what you say, it sounds like there is some multi-angle branching going on.
I had this on a PAL Shrek rip.
What it does is this:
- for title sequences in different languages, the disk has multiple angles in the VOB files that contain the different versions.
- the player automatically plays the correct version by what language is set in the DVD's main menu.
- when you come to rip the VOBs, DVD2AVI will just run straight through the VOBs and rip all angles one after the other - not good!
The way I got around this was to open the IFO file in IFOEdit and do a really basic strip of all angle pointers except angle 1 (usually the English one).
Then throw the VOBs into DVD2AVI and you should now end up with a .d2v file that only has the English titles.
Easy really
Hope that helps a little ....... Sue xxx

There are 3 different angles in SWEp2. I know IFOEdit doesn't let you choose which angle to keep but there are 3. Once you load the IFO file scroll down in the VobID area to see the VobID's that correspond to angles 2 and 3. (I believe that the vob ID's are either 2,3 or 3,4) Strip those out and you are ready to roll.

Yes, IFOedit does let you choose which angles to keep. I ripped SWII two days ago. VobID 3 & 4

This is probably the most confusing part to using IfoEdit. -

Here's an example line under the PGC_1 heading:

The section that says [V/C Id: 3/ 2] means the vob id for that section is 3 and the chapter is chapter 2. -
Thanks Lance for the help in finding which Angle corresponds to what VobID.
The BIG question is what steps did you do to get Episode II into two parts?
It seems everyone has their own special way for this or that movie. I am looking for the be all to end all way for all DVD-9 to DVDR's!
I have had some luck getting a split movie to play on the PC but very little success getting it to play on the DVD player. -
To Make things simple you could have just ripped the movie with smartripper. It's allows ripping of single angles . Ripping out the useless angles greatly decreased the overall size (Still not under 4.3gb though.)
-
I ripped it with Smartripper, selected angle 1,stream ripped only the video and primary audio stream. Transcoded wth Rempeg and Ifoedit. It plays fine except for some stuttering in chapter 2 but hat maybe because I treated as progressive only in Rempeg.
